All good things must come to an end ~ Chaucer
And so it has. Some people don't quite make it to the finish line. Sometimes they give up or their body gives in. Mom's body gave in, and so the Radiation Oncologist on duty yesterday told my mom that her body had had enough. She "finished" one day early. She is truly burnt to a crisp. It's painful to see her skin so raw and purple and red. I'm proud of her. She never complained, always smiled and had something nice to say to everyone. It's bittersweet though. I'll miss the people who took the journey with her. Because of this, I've met some of the nicest people on the planet, each with a story to share.
Because she finished early, we'll meet the bus when it comes back this evening so that she can give her going-away gifts to the people on the bus. I helped to pick out a special gift for a special guy. I'm hoping he likes it. Now the real journey begins. Recovery. Now that's a beautiful word! Other than a "fitting" appointment on Thursday, there will be no more medical appointments till the 9th of May. The break will be nice. I'm happy.
Welcome! I live in a world where nothing seems organized to anyone but me. I'm constantly thinking. Even when my life is in an upheaval, I know where my keys are, unless you move them... I can't remember names or words for things, so I use similar words (Kitchen = Garage) I call very few people "friend" It's a title you earn. I don't use it loosely.Don't like my thoughts? Click the white"x"in the little red box and it'll go away. Still here? Enjoy the ride!
