Heading Into Monday...

Busy week ahead! Appointments daily, plus most days have more than one scheduled. Did I mention I'm not a morning person? Let me repeat it here again: I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON! Admittedly, most of them are scheduled for late morning, but Tuesday will be a killer.

I have 3 appointments, none of them comfortable. There will even be some blood, possibly quite a bit. My blood, of course, and I'll venture to say that it seems no matter how many times I get this done, I never really manage to wrap my head around it. I dislike the process. The discomfort, the feel of my blood gently running down my sides and back and then gradually coagulating into puddles of stickiness. You may ask me why I do it, if I dislike the process so much. Well, I like the end product, and I enjoy the company, the laughing, the jokes, the feeling on his body against mine in a very nonsexual way. The "floating" feeling, and the general giddiness from the blood loss. By the time the process is over, I'm sticky with blood, sweaty, and sometimes there are tears in my eyes, but at that moment, I am beautiful. Being gently cleaned and wrapped up causes the tears, mostly because it stings. I enjoy seeing what has been done, and watching the change in my body as it heals. I feel accomplished, like I've endured a difficult test and lived to tell about it.

I could never do something like this to myself. I plan, I schedule and I wait. There are others that would try this process at home and cause themselves great harm. I prefer the cleanliness that is afforded me by having it done by someone who knows what he's doing in a medical-type setting, with sterile instruments, wearing gloves and a mask. I know that there are tribes in other countries that do this using crude instruments in dirt, on the ground, and that sometimes the recipient dies from an infection. That they have no choice or control in the process. I think I like my way better.
