It seems that just a few weeks ago I was bringing in 2011 with my friends in Pasadena and now it's 2012! I'm reminded that I was unsure about things facing me and the results of all the tests mom had gone through weren't ready, but we were pretty sure she had breast cancer. Her cancer took up most of the year, but she seems to be doing well. My SAD that normally arrives in November has given me a respite this year. I'm feeling fine and I'm not medicated.... yet... I have the medication bottle staring at me, but I feel (as does my doctor) that if I'm doing okay, why should I take unnecessary meds? I'll see him on Tuesday for our annual post-holiday visit. I see him monthly from October to January so he can be sure I'm okay. I think he'll be pleased.
I can't and won't tell all here but I recently returned to an activity that I used to enjoy and I think it has a lot to do with why I'm feeling so good. Being occupied with other things helps to keep the depression at bay. I admit, though, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop... It would be nice if all my medical problems disappeared but I also know the statistics as they relate to me. Even so, surviving Winter without the extra medication is nice. I still have all the other meds I need to take, but I'm not complaining. My blood pressure, cholesterol and seizure medications are taken nightly, but they're all easy to remember and all those conditions are under control because I take those pills nightly...
2012! A brand new year! A clean slate of sorts. I have no idea of where I'll be at the end of this year, but I have no doubts in my mind that this will be eventful for me. I know that my doctor mentioned above is going into private practice come June, so I'll get a new doctor, but I'm not too worried...well I am a little worried but I trust all will be okay with my new doctor. I'll just miss "Peter Pan" badly.
Anyway, a Happy and Blessed New Year to all of you with Love!
Welcome! I live in a world where nothing seems organized to anyone but me. I'm constantly thinking. Even when my life is in an upheaval, I know where my keys are, unless you move them... I can't remember names or words for things, so I use similar words (Kitchen = Garage) I call very few people "friend" It's a title you earn. I don't use it loosely.Don't like my thoughts? Click the white"x"in the little red box and it'll go away. Still here? Enjoy the ride!
