Miracles?

There is a blood test for breast cancer. Well, not exactly, but it measures the amount of breast cancer that is in your blood. I've forgotten the name of it now, but all that really matters is the results. After her mastectomy, mom's result was 80, which was quite a bit higher than the oncologist expected.  We were told not to worry, because sometimes it takes quite a while for it to drop. Just before we left for out trip to Reno, mom went in for an repeat test. We didn't talk about it or even really worry about it, but when my sister made a negative comment regarding mom's cancer, I told her that she needed to quit with the negativity, and that mom was getting better. "How do you know?!" was her reply. She said it in such a nasty tone that I felt like slapping her. Instead, I replied that I and a bunch of my friends prayed about it, and that I believed that God had already answered the prayers and that was all the "proof" I needed. She went on about God ignoring prayers, etc. and I told her that everything was going to be okay and I finally walked away from her rantings. I really hate negativity.

If you read the entry below, you'll get an idea of how the trip to Reno went... anyway, Monday afternoon, I took mom to see the (non-radiation) oncologist. We discussed a few things and then she told us the test results. Mom's level is now 58!  "Normal" is below 36, so mom is on her way! If you consider that her first test was mid-February, and her more current one was done in the end of April, you can see why I'm happy. I don't expect overnight miracles, but even this little thing proves my point. There will be another blood test in about two months plus a CT scan. I'm just jumping for joy!
