Freeway

I should not be allowed to drive more than 10 miles on the freeway alone. I get lost and distracted too easily, and I often wind up having a panic attack. This morning, on my way to Anaheim, I "forgot" where I was going and I stayed on the wrong freeway. When I figured out where I was, I remembered an alternate route, but I had never gone that way before, and I was alone, so there was nobody to talk to and reassure me that I was doing okay. The street was busy and there was no way to go but forward, but when I hit a red light, I called one of the women I was supposed to meet, and of course, it went to voicemail. Words tumbled out of my mouth and I started to cry. Fortunately for me, she knows how I get when I'm alone and confused, so when I called a second time a few minutes later, she reassured me I was doing fine. Just then I saw "The Tower of Terror" and realized I was going the correct way. Less than 10 minutes later, I was where I belonged. I felt more than a little shook up, but when I explained to the other women what happened, only the woman I had called knew what "The Tower of Terror" was! Good thing I called her and nobody else!
